For The Digital Stamp User

Do you love Digi Stamps? Have you ever thought of Stampin' Up! for digi stamps? Stampin' Up! has a great digital scrapbooking program called My Digital Studio. They offer a lot of different options for your digital scrapbooking needs. One of the options offered is Stamp Brush Sets. Stamp brush sets can be used as digi stamps. They are offered as downloads for MDS and for other applications. This means you don't have to purchase MDS to use them. You can use them in your other programs just like digi stamps you purchase from other online shops. The best thing about these downloads is you can get them for retired stamp sets. There are many stamps sets I would love to have, but buying them secondhand because they are retired and in high demand makes them too expensive. I can get most if not all of them in digital format. I can also get many new sets a a more budget friendly price. New downloads are offered every Tuesday. They can be ordered through my online store and downloaded immediately. No waiting for them to be delivered by UPS. Just remember this is digital merchandise and no physical stamps will be mailed.

Affordable classes for local customers

Hi Stampers, Cardmakers, and Scrapbookers! With all the layoffs in our area and job uncertainty, would you like to get away from it all for an hour or two and relax? Stamping, making cards and making simple scrapbook layouts are very relaxing to me. Would you like to join in? I would like to invite you to come and make some things with me. I will be keeping the cost down as much as possible so that it can be affordable. I would like to offer some $5.00 classes. You could come and make a simple scrapbook layout or a couple of cards. No additional purchase would be necessary. This would be a great chance to get away with friends for an hour or two, chat, and catch up. If you would like to arrange a class, please let me know. If you would like to hostess an event and have 5 or more confirmed and paid guests, I will provide your class materials for free. As a hostess, you can choose the project(s) we would be working on. I will be providing a handmade gift to every hostess no matter how many confirmed and paid guests you have.

Perfectly Penned Birthday

I love the Apothecary Accents framelits, but I wish they had two sets for each one.  I love to layer with my framelits.  I cut out the Happy Birthday sentiment with my framelit, but wanted to layer it on the same shape.  Then it hit me, trace around the outer edge of the framelit and fussy cut it out.  Doing this will give me so many more ways to use them.

Male version of Memo Pad

Thought I would try it with some more masculine colors.  Night of Navy with an image from Feeling Sentimental.  I love this retired set from Sale-a-Bration as I am a Dr. Who fan.

September Swaps on Facebook

For September, I am actually in 3 different swaps on Facebook.  These are the cards for 2 of my swap groups.

In Stampin Up Friends we have a monthly theme and a sweepstakes winner chosen from the participants.  For the sweepstakes card, I used Blushing Bride and the Wildflower Meadow Bundle.  The ribbon is Pretty in Pink.  We can use retired if we need to.  The themed card is Thinking of You/Praying for You.  I went with Strawberry Slush for this card.  Just because it is a Thinking of You/Praying for You doesn't mean it has to be somber colors for me.  Sometimes a pop of color can cheer up someone who is feeling a bit down.  I used color blocking (inking up a clear block and stamping to create a background) and an image from Flowering Flourishes.
This card is for the swap group Stampin Up Addicts.  This is the first month for this swap group.  The theme is Back to School.  Retired items are allowed for this swap.  I recently purchased It's Academic.  I love this stamp set even though it is retired.  I love the way the Daffodil Delight looks when stamped on Daffodil Delight Cardstock.  It is dark enough to make a great background.

A lot of demonstrators do not keep retired stamp sets and would not purchase a set if it was retired.  I love some of the retired sets.  I make cards and sell them to people who aren't interested in making their own cards.  I do purchase retired stamp sets I like if I can get them for the right price.  I made a scrapbook for a retiring teacher and I really wish I had this set then.  You just never know what you might need for a project.

Smile

This card was made with the Flower Shop Bundle.  I stamped the flowers on the Whisper White layer and then punched them out with my pansy punch.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop the flowers up over the blank spaces from where I punched.  It shows a shadow from the Tempting Turquoise card base underneath.  I used the Smile sentiment inked in Tempting Turquoise from the Happy Day stamp set.  The Large Pearl Basic Jewels make the perfect flower centers.

Missing You Ghost Ship

I was playing around with some ghosting techniques I saw on YouTube this past weekend.  I think they would do a lot better with glossy cardstock, but couldn't find mine and Stampin' Up! doesn't sell it anymore, so I used Whisper White cardstock.  For the background, I used White Craft Ink with Pear Pizzazz ink brayered over it.  I let the craft ink dry for a long time and even heat set it, but it still reacted with the Pear Pizzazz I used over it.  I wasn't really happy with it.  I used my aqua painter to splash some water over it.  I liked the spots it left behind.  For the image, I used a retired stamp set that I love (Schooner).  With this one I used Versimark and brayered over it with Island Indigo.  The image showed up really faint.  Made me think of missing someone, which is why this is a Missing You card.   I thought this button stamp from the retired set Button Button went great.  I layered the card front on a card base of Marina Mist.  I think for my next ghosting technique I will try is using clear embossing powder and sponging around on the cardstock.

Christmas Memo Pad

While at Staples this weekend, I found these cut little mini legal pads.  I remembered seeing a video of someone covering them to make cute teacher gifts.  I decided to give it a try.
I gathered up my supplies.  I used Baked Brown Sugar, Cherry Cobbler, and Gumball Green Ink.  The papers are Gumball Green, Whisper White, and Seasons of Style DSP Stack.  I used the Holiday Ornament Framelits and Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set with my Big Shot.  Some Whisper White Bakers Twine, Snail Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots and Stampin' Dimensionals rounded it out.
I cut my papers to size, 3 1/2 inches wide.  The Gumball Green I left at 11 inches.  The Seasons of Style, I trimmed to 2 inches long.  (I ended up cutting some of the Gumball Green from the bottom of the back.)
I lined up the Gumball Green and adhered it to the font page of the mini legal pad and wrapped it all the way around the back.
I stamped the smaller ornaments and cut them out with the big shot and framelits.

I tied small bows with the bakers twine and used mini glue dots to attach them.  I cut some bakers twine to attach to the backs of the ornaments and attached them with glue dots.  Then I added Stampin' Dimensionals to the backs.
I ran a line of Snail adhesive across the top of the pad to attach the strings to hold them in place.
I adhered the Seasons of Style DSPS piece to the top and wrapped it around to the back.
I thought it needed something else so I pulled out my Christmas Messages Stamp Set and used the Oh What Fun sentiment.
I love the way it turned out.
